Spectacular beginning last day Swim Cup

The last day of the Swim Cup 2016 promised a lot of highlights. From upward to 9.00 p.m. there will be a lot of finals swam, with a lot of (international) top swimmers.

It was a Dutch national record for man -17 that was broken by Nyls Korstanje that started the day. At the 50-meter butterfly he swam 24.65. Also Joeri Verlinden was active during the 50 meter butterfly, he finished the race in 24.09.

European records
It were Bas Takken and Duncan van Haaren that swam a new European record. Takken did it at the 800 meter Freestyle, van Haaren at the 200-meter breaststroke. The respectively swam 8:52.64 and 2:33.81.

Junior Swim Cup
Tonight at 6.45 p.m. the Junior Swim Cup finals are scheduled. The eight best boys and girls will compete in the Pieter van den Hoogenband zwemstadion. They will race in the 100-meter freestyle.

Best final for the evening
The last evening of the Swim Cup 2016 will be all about a big number of finals. The final of the 200-meter freestyle with Maarten Brzoskowski and Sebastiaan Verschuren is one to look out for. Brzoskowski will make one last attempt to qualify for the Olympics. Also Joeri Verlinden will be active at the 50-meter backstroke.

The 100-meter woman freestyle is the absolute best of the evening. With only Dutch top swimmers it is a race to look forward to. Amongst others there will be Femke Heemskerk, Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Robin Neumann and Marrit Steenbergen. A race to look forward to!
