Heats on Thursday already produces some great highlights

This morning the start of the eleventh edition of the Swim Cup Eindhoven took place in the Pieter van den Hoogenband swimming stadium. The start was very promising as showed the early results of the heats this morning. Several records were broken and for the Dutch some nice qualifications for the World Championships in Kazan were made.

Records and qualification requirements
The very first race of this morning showed how competitive the field is at this years Swim Cup. Paralympic swimmer Olivier van de Voort swam a world record time of 2.09.18 at the 200 meter backstroke. The heat that follows with youth swimmers Loulou Jansen and Marieke Tienstra, showed some fast times as well. The Dutch girls qualified for respectively the European Youth Olympic Festival and the European Games of this year.

The Dutch showed to be extremely competitive. Femke Heemskerk met the World Championships qualification requirement for the 50 meters free-style. Sebastiaan Verschuren did the same at the 100 meters freestyle.

It promised to be a great afternoon session, with fast finals. Will you join the action?
