Another success for Verschuren at innovative Swim Cup
This morning Sebastiaan Verschuren shows his skills in the 200m freestyle heat. His performance during the 100m freestyle proved that he was in good shape, so many eyes are focused on him. And this morning back in the Eindhoven swimming pool: Sarah Sjöström.
Sjöström finally in action in Eindhoven
Unfortunately Sara Sjöström could not swim during the first two days of the Swim Cup. Food poisoning kept her away from the pool. But this morning she is present and during the 100m free style she shows that she is fit again. She finishes in 54.64 and qualifies for the semi-finals this afternoon behind Heemskerk and Kromowidjojo.
Verschuren strong in series
Sebastiaan Verschuren knows that he has to stay under 1:46.98 in order to qualify for the 200m freestyle at the World Championships in Kazan. Verschuren makes a quick start and after the first turning point he is in the lead. After 200 metres he finishes in 1:46.07 which allows for a ticket to Kazan!
Innovative Swim Cup
Every year the Swim Cup tries to innovate and to be ahead of other world tournaments. On the Youtube platform (zwemsport.tv) all races can be followed online via livestream. This year the Swim Cup went even a bit further. The individual races can be viewed on the Youtube platform ten minutes after the races have taken place. By doing so the Swim Cup creates a ‘ second screen’. In this way Sebastiaan Verschuren could see his performance in the 200m freestyle race already after five minutes. Since this edition portraits of the swimmers who participate in the races are shown and people can see the face under the swim cap and behind the swim glasses. This is being realized by www.videoregie.nl who takes care of the pictures and VDH Timing who are responsible for time registration.
